           Hey!  Thanks for dropping by!

My name is Kendall, and some of you may know me from NewsRadio KFBK 93.1fm / 1530am.

I fell in love with radio when I started working at KFBK as a 14- year-old sophomore at Sacramento Country Day School back in 1997. I've been in love with radio ever since. When all my classmates left for college, I worked through my college days while getting my degree at Sac State. I wanted to stay in town because I loved my work so much.

If you want to learn more about what drives me, please read on.

I've seen so many events happen during that time, from election shake-ups to natural disasters to the most devastating human experiences. I've practically grown up with some of the hosts here and, frankly, I've seen some come and go, but the one thing that has always been a constant in my life has been you, our loyal listeners. It turns out that connecting with listeners has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I love you guys.

As most of you know, in 2019, I went through a battle with blood cancer: leukemia. You probably also know that I was in the hospital for an entire month and then went through eight more months of chemotherapy.

What you probably don't know is that it was you, our listeners, who picked me up and carried me through those rough times with your notes, cards, letters, artwork, and gifts. The walls of my hospital room were covered, and I cried with every single note. Words will never express my gratitude. It's, literally, because of you and your love that I am here today.

I feel that I could not have gone through my cancer treatment without your enormous help, and I am driven to help carry others through their tough times. We all have them.

My new podcast on mental health is one way I can give back. It's the one way I can thank you for all you do because sometimes we all need a little encouragement.  It is also the area where I think I can make the most impact.  I'm so glad you're here.

                Yours truly, Kendall XOXO
